Compare and Review all Public and Private Transfer Options

Transportation to and from Budapest Airport

Have you just retrieved your luggage after your flight to BUD Airport? Now it’s time to reach your accommodation in Budapest city center and let the journey begin! Define your needs, your requirements, and your budget, and make your choice among the transfer options from the airport to downtown. Are you leaning on Budapest airport taxis or private transfers, or are you more interested in car hires? Perhaps you prefer public transportation. Taxi, private transfer, car rental, bus or train? What will be your final answer?

Taxi

The Főtaxi vehicles (the only taxis allowed to circulate at the airport) are always queuing up at the official taxi stands outside the T2A and T2B arrivals halls. Budapest airport taxis offer fast, safe, and, most of all, comfortable transfer services from and to BUD Airport. The ride with an airport taxi from Budapest International Airport to the city center costs around 10800HUF (27.48€/30.46$) – the exact price is calculated by a taximeter – and lasts approximately 35 minutes.

Bus

BUD airport buses are another alternative for your transfer to the city of Budapest. Take the direct but more expensive Bus 100E and reach Deák Ferenc tér in 45 minutes, paying 2200HUF (5.60€/6.21$) or catch the Bus 200E and hop on the Metro M3 at Kobanya-Kispest Station. Your journey will last 45-55 minutes, and you’ll pay 900HUF (2.29€/2.54$). Finally, the BUD Airport offers private shuttle services provided by the miniBUD company.

Train

Liszt Ferenc Airport isn’t directly connected to the city center by train. Hence, passengers opting for a train transfer from the airport have to take Bus 200E to Ferihegy Station, the train station located closest to the BUD Airport. More than 100 trains depart from that station daily and head to Budapest Nyugati Station in Budapest city. The total journey duration with the Bus 200E and the train is similar to the direct Bus 100E’s route, while its cost is cheaper.

Private Airport Transfers

If you are interested in booking a private airport transfer for your ride from Budapest Airport to Budapest, you’ll find plenty of private transfer companies at the airport. Hence, by comparing the provided services and prices, you can book the best value for money option and enjoy welcoming services at the airport arrivals area, as well as a relaxed and comfortable ride to your accommodation.

Car Rentals

If you want to follow your own path and make your everyday schedule in Budapest exactly as you like, then a Budapest airport car rental is the ideal way of transfer for your journey. Budapest Airport hosts many car-hire companies. Thus, explore your options and find the best Budapest car rental deal for you!

Budapest Airport to Budapest City Center

Many transportation means handle transfers from Budapest Airport to the city center. Therefore, all you have to do is make your requirements and budget clear and choose among them. Airport taxis, car rentals, and private transfers are the most convenient options. On the other, there is a direct Bus Line (100E), as well as a cheaper and 24/7 bus (200E) that heads to Kobanya-Kispest Station, which serves the Blue Metro Line 3. Lastly, Bus Line 200E can also take you to Ferihegy Station, 12 minutes from the airport. From that station, trains frequently depart to the city center.

Budapest Airport to Keleti Train Station

If Keleti Pályaudvar, the central station of Budapest, is your destination, you’ll have to choose between two options for your transfer from Budapest Airport to Keleti Station. On one hand, airport taxis are fast, direct, and comfortable. Still, they are not a cheap option. Alternatively, the Bus Lines 100E and 200E are much cheaper, yet they lack convenience, as they require one or two intermediate transits respectively.
